OCTOBER 13, 2011
Executive Board Members present: President, Terry Benhardt; Vice President, Avery Finver; Treasurer, Gary Keay; Secretary, Karen Halvatzes; Assistant Secretary; Member at Large, John Schneider

President Terry Benhardt called meeting to order at 7:= 45 p.m.

Avery Finver made motion to accept minutes as written.=
Bob Shagoury seconded. Unanimously approved. Minutes of September 8th accepted.
-Terry Benhardt picked up check from Shaw’s for $130.00 for the second fundraiser put on by Pepsi/Frito Lay; also received $750.00 from the first fundraiser.
-program directors to deliver approved Board monthly m= inutes to Secretary and Assistant Secretary;
-Phil DeGregorio and Terry Benhardt went to meeting an= d the town accepted the pavilion at Veteran’s Park at September 22nd= sup> town council meeting;
-cutting of grass at Reeds #4 and #5- Terry Benhardt t= o set up meeting w/Tom Touseau. Spo= ke w/Jody Vallencourt on the School Board and she wants to be kept abreast of = what reason is why school district cannot do it. These are school fields by the sch= ool building;
-Janet Cormier farewell by Parks & Recreation Depa= rtment has been postponed to Wednesday, November 16th at town hall; 6 p= .m.; all are welcome to attend;
-Mike Ruggiero reschedule due to rain 2nd a= nnual Softball Tournament to this Saturday, 10/15/11;
-Mike Ruggiero dedication on Sunday, September 25= th at Reeds went very well and thank you all that attended and participated;= p>
-Twardosky Field dedication is this Saturday, October =
15th
at 11 a.m. at the

-fields report- hope all directors are keeping up w/the website when fields are closed. Adam Jacobs, DPW is doing a great job communicating;
-DPW is trying to get certified to put down pesticides around water. Teressa from Ou= tdoor Creations is helping DPW w/getting it;
-the lighting panel at Reeds is being under control;= p>
-Avery Finver apologized to Soccer for not communicati= ng about the reschedule of Mike Ruggiero Softball Tournament.
Football/Cheer Director - Phil DeGregorio.
Half way through the season; everything is fine and go= od; only off Wasserman once due to weather.&nb= sp; Will not be at Wasserman this weekend due to a conflict at Wasserman. John Schneider will audit Football their next meeting.
Phil DeGregorio continued- Spirit Rally at Smith Gym t= his Saturday. Sunday at SNH is NH= Cheer Competition- have five squads participating. Annual Board meeting and Elections= in November; white tent is gone at Vet’s, wind took it again.
Soccer Representative – Kristina DeBruin.
Craig Hoemke sent in proposed by-law change which Kris= tina DeBruin read, on file, Executive Board to discuss. Soccer is requesting to build a concession stand at Reeds Ferry. E.B. need a written proposal w/the exact location, specifications of= the building, etc. and has to go through the school district who owns the land = and then the town. Have Elections= next month, Monday, November 14th.&n= bsp; Marty Swafford will be not returning, has been there a long time.
Wrestling Director – Mike Brody.
Did their Information Night- had about 25 to 30 kids a= nd families show up; thanks to Football for letting them come down for a weeke= nd to present their program. Fin= ished last night w/approximately 35 kids. Trying to cater to a wide range of interests. Returning wrestlers this year was low. Do wrestling scrimmages = w/the Boys & Girls Club and other towns.&nbs= p; Start practices on November 5th. Storing mats at Reeds has been a problem, they only want two mats stored at the school, Tom McDonough workin= g on it. Have a board meeting next= week and looking to recruit new board members.&= nbsp; Have a scheduling meeting at the end of the month w/the State to schedule tournaments. Met w/h= igh school coaches for continuity and they attended MYA Wrestling Information Night.

Youth Baseball Director – Paul Williams.
All board positions have been assigned; turned in new = board listing and approved minutes to E. B. Secretary. Near the end of Fall Ball; training clinics are almost done and going well.&nb= sp; Looking to plan on zero town funding and going over registration fee= s; will gearing up for January registrations; will get the planning form into Assistant Secretary, Don De Beradinis; Skeffington Committee will have a meeting next week, October 19th.
Lacrosse Representative – Kevin Beaton.
Had first board meeting on September 29th, still looking to fill a few board positions; opening registration on December 1st; offer early registration fee; run till February 1st then put in late fee aft= er that. Probably will not do a = Comedy Night- not worth the money and time put in due to the profit margin; do clothing sale and raffles for fundraisers.= Will try to promote kids for lacrosse during basketball season; know have to get approval from the school first for any flyers passed out at the school.
No written report or representative from Youth Basketb= all.
Don De Beradinis – Assistant Secretary.
-need board listings from Girls Softball, Lacrosse and Basketball.
-membership list at 6/30/11- members- 2,151 and participants- 3,472.
Tim Kachmar – Member at Large and Parks & Re= creation Liaison- absent.
Wrote in cannot attend tonight’s meeting. Terry Benhardt will tell Tim Kachm= ar to email 2012-2013 MYA Budget to the town.&nb= sp; Told Gary Keay that need encumbered funds for the town.
Bob Shagoury – Arbitrator & Officials Liaiso= n.
-did have one sex offender in Nashua this month; calle= d Greg Michaels, Attorney at Law, of= fice on the Skeffington paperwork = and is waiting for an answer if it is in his office and when can the paperwork for= the 501c3 be done. Bob Shagoury w= ill send an email to that affect to Greg Michaels office.
No Old Business.
New Business- Terry Benhardt went over that Carter Jor= dan came and made a presentation to the E.B.&n= bsp; Gave a brief overlay what he presented. Kevin Beaton took one of these cou= rses through U.S. Lacrosse and taught a lot about body language.
John Schneider came in at this time.
Will do 3 to 4 workshop/clinics over the year; non pro= fit; receive gets some funding through the Boston Celtics; doing a clinic Saturd= ay, November 5th in Franconia if anyone in the MYA wants to go. Avery Finver thinks this is a very= good clinic to attend and that the MYA E.B. should promote this. We should look into this to see if= the cost outlays what is taught. = Tied w/National Little League. Discussion on should the MYA mandate this across the board. Looking to see who might be in on this. Terry Benhardt, Avery F= inver and Bob Shagoury from the E.B. will go; Programs are welcome to send someone also to this clinic on Saturday, November 5th.
John Schneider – Member at Large.
-has all inventories for all 7 programs and the E.B.; = will get hard and soft copy to Terry Benhardt;
-review of schedule of certificates of insurance- Terry Benhardt provided written dates for each program certificate of insurance;<= /p>
-audits- Sunday, October 16th for Football/= Cheer; October 27th for Lacrosse audit- John Schneider will put this off until April after they have written checks; November 17th for Basketball and November 14th for Soccer. Copy of report goes to E.B. Treasu= rer and goes into the audit binder. November 2nd is audit w/Youth Baseball.
